Top 5 Places to have great coffee in Vancouver

Whether it's first thing in the morning, a midday break or a place to work at night, there is no shortage of places to have a savoury tasting cup of coffee in Vancouver.

Here are 5 coffee shops you should check out.

1.East Van Roasters

This thriving coffee shop located in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side ground and roast their espresso beans on-site. Aside from great tasting coffee they are known for carrying some of the most sought after home-made chocolate in the city. East Van Roasters supports the local area by employing women from a nearby social housing project. Rock on!

2. Revolver Coffee

Opened in 2011 by the Giannakos family, Revolver Coffee is located in popular gastown. Revolver sources product from areas less known for their roasts such Calgary, New York, and Halifax to name a few. Be sure to stop in and try their sought after “taste flight” to taste 3 different roasts all brewed the same way.

3.49th Parallel Coffee

Go for the coffee, stay for the donuts. Launching in 2004, Vince Piccolo and his brother opened their first location with beans roasted in Burnaby. Since then they’ve opened multiple locations all serving some of the best brewed small batch coffee in the city. Small batch allows 49th to control the brew process and insure that their coffee is always the best of the best.

4.The Mighty Oak

The Mighty Oak is a hidden gem where locals go to drink great coffee, converse, and of course eat delicious fresh pastries. Get there early and you’ll hopefully find some space on the patio.

Italians have great taste when it comes to suits, food and of course coffee. Milano is the cafe of choice for many local Italians.  Visit any one of their locations to experience finely crafted, flavorful and bold coffee. If you get the opportunity, sip on master roaster Brian Turko’s award winning Italian espresso. You’ll be sure to go back for more.
