Darren Footz

CEO & Director

A serial entrepreneur, Darren is the past President of Granville Island Coffee, his most recent venture and a company he built within 5 years from a small artisan roaster to a national brand.

He is the innovative mind behind the revolutionary pod. His expertise, dedication and pioneering ideas are the backbone of our organization.

Len Clough

Capital Markets Consultant

Len Clough began his career at RBC Dominion Securities in 1998 and spent 13 years in investment management. In 2013, he founded Toro Pacific Management Inc, a capital markets advisory firm focusing on high growth, early stage companies looking to access the Canadian capital markets. Mr. Clough has extensive public company management experience and has worked in senior management roles including CEO and as a Director of several companies. Toro Pacific Management Inc. has an extensive financial network and has been directly involved in capital formation exceeding CAD $100m in aggregate across various sectors.

Jason Rennie

Operations

Jason has been working in the natural foods sector for over 25 years. He has spent the last 13 as Production Manager for Ethical Bean Coffee Co., one of the leading Fair Trade Organic coffee brands in Canada. Jason successfully managed production, supply chain and logistics. He successfully grew the company from a start-up serving ten accounts to providing products for thousands of accounts across Canada, the US and Japan including such retailers as Loblaws, Kroger and Costco. In addition he managed a variety of projects, from developing a private label coffee line for Amazon to overseeing a complete replacement of Ethical Beans roasting equipment. Working with the quality team, he helped to develop blends and ensured flavour profiles remained consistent over time. He also provided day to day management of Ethical Bean’s single serve co-packers. As part of the management team, he played an important role in Ethical Bean’s sale in 2018 to KraftHeinz and helped manage the transition for Kraft after the sale was completed. He has a comprehensive background in food safety and is very experienced in managing third-party certification programs such as Organic certification, Kosher certification and HACCP. Jason will be an integral part of the G-Pak team as we ramp up towards commercialization.

John LaGourgue

President & Director

John has over 20 years of experience in senior management and directors’ roles for public and private companies. Currently, John is the VP of Corporate Development and serves on the board of Grande West Transportation with a focus on capital markets strategies and corporate communications.

Ash Guglani

Director

Ash spent 12 years in capital markets with a national investment bank in Vancouver. Ash has played an integral role in helping G-PAK in all capacities, including helping to obtain financing for the company (private and government funding).

Advisors

Jason Fediuk

Jason is currently Principal of Swordfish Capital Inc., a boutique financial advisory firm specializing in capital markets planning for both public and private corporations looking to raise growth capital. Prior to this, Jason was Vice President of Peninsula Merchant Syndications, which specialized in finding, investing, structuring, and financing public companies in the resource space. Jason was a partner at Salman Partners, a national investment bank. Jason was an integral part of the sales and trading operations serving institutional clients across North America, Europe, and Australia. Throughout Jason’s 30-year career in capital markets, he has personally invested, advised, financed and structured multiple transactions in the resource, tech, and cannabis space. Jason holds a BA (Econ) degree from Simon Fraser University.

Anthony Rosenfeld

Anthony holds 20 years of experience in marketing, strategy and business development. In 2007, pursuing his passion for natural health and sustainability, he joined Vega in its infancy as Vice President of Marketing. There he built a strong 50- member team that developed a leading marketing program overseeing consumer, trade, PR, creative and digital marketing. He played a key role in building an internationally recognized premium brand while seeing revenue grow from $3.5M
in 2007 to $200M in 2015. Anthony received a Bachelor’s degree from McGill University and American University and
an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at Western University.

John Hemeon

John spent 25 years with Sysco Food Service learning everything about the food, packaging and service needs of restaurants, institutions and Executive Vice President. He then joined Tim Hortons for seven years as Executive Vice President, Supply Chain where he learned all things

Neil Madden

Neil’s heart is in sales. His passion for solving customer needs led him to create his own company, which morphed from a vending machine business in 1997 to a multi-channel retail, e-commerce and distribution

Rob Smith

Rob has 25+ years as an investor and advisor to technology and growth related companies. He is currently a Director of HempTown USA, an Advisor to G-PAK, and Altus Capital Partners. Rob has backed several leading companies in the areas of digital payments, Blockchain, Food tech/sustainability, and VR XR.

Mark Betteridge

For 25 years, Mark has been involved in both real estate and technology as CEO of Discovery Parks and Discovery Foundation in Vancouver. The Discovery Group created two million square feet of l abs, offices and space to support and grow early stage technology companies. In addition, Mark was founding director and eventually Chairman of the Board of Covenant House Vancouver, a director of the Vancouver Economic Commission and the Vancouver Aquarium and is on the Board of the BC Business Council.

Dr. Zac Hudson

Dr. Zac Hudson is the Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Chemistry at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Hudson holds a B.Sc. and Ph.D in chemistry from Queen’s University, and has held research fellowships at top universities in Japan, China, the US and UK. His Ph.D. thesis was named the top chemistry Ph.D. in all of Canada, as well as the top Ph.D. at Queen’s in any field. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific papers, including six in Science or Nature journals, and holds 3 patents. He currently leads a team of 12 researchers at UBC developing new polymeric materials for sustainable technologies
